airline bankruptcy insurance

Has an insurance company ever filed for bankruptcy?
With airlines, chain stores, general and even several banks filing for bankruptcy, I have never heard of an insurance company like Allstate or State Farm filing even with all the catastrophic situations that have occurred recently. You pay insurance premiums for years and never file a claim until you are involved in a small fender-bender and your premium jumps up for the next three years. They say it is to recover their loss. What is your opinions on this?
Insurance is a complete scam, they base your premium on something you MIGHT do based on your gender, age, and car.
They should base your rate on what’s on your record. They should start everyone out at the same amount.
