Spiritually, what is wrong with Republicans misappropriating rock music?
Remember when Reagan flubbed up and used “Born in the USA” in his campaign, oblivious to the actual lyrics of the song AND counter to Bruce Springsteen’s politics? Well, McCain is being sued by Jackson Browne for using “Running on Empty” in an anti-Obama ad.
Speaking about the suit, Browne’s lawyer said his client is a “lifelong liberal activist and supporter of Democratic candidates, and use of his song and his voice in a commercial bashing Barack Obama is anathema to Jackson.”
So, are these Republicans just that cavalier, or do they just skip their homework, spiritually speaking?
