bankruptcy 2004 hearing

Judgement Post Bankruptcy?
I have recently looked into buying a house and came across an issue on my credit report. I filed bankruptcy back in 2004 when i lived in New York. The main reason was for a debt to a local credit union for around 9,000. This was included in the bankruptcy. Now after reviewing my credit report I saw that there is a judgement from this credit union for that amount. The judgement was post bankruptcy. Has anyone heard of this , I contacted the attorney that helped me file the paperwork and of course he wants more money to look into it but thinks that it is not valid as the debt was included in the bankruptcy.
Thanks
You need to hire an attorney to get the judgment vacated. If it is for a pre-petition debt, they violated the permanent injunction that comes into effect when your discharge is entered. Paying an attorney a couple hundred bucks to clear this up would surely be worth it, be it the bankruptcy attorney, or an attorney that goes to collections/small claims court on a regular basis.
Alternatively you can call the credit union about it, but I doubt they’ll feel compelled to do anything unless they feel they will be sanctioned if they don’t do anything.
