bankruptcy and divorce decree

Some of our original loans are now in collections – who do I list on the Bankruptcy Papers?

So, even though our divorce decree says our debts are 50/50, I seem to be taking on all of it via judgments. Apparently, he incurred some $50,000 in medical bills and listed me as financially responsible while we were separated. They got a judgment against us (I wasn’t around to be served, but he didn’t feel the need to advise me either) so now they have seized my bank accounts which is where my paychecks go on Direct Deposit.
Its come down to filing Bankruptcy. I pulled my credit report, there are collectors on there for some of the outstanding debts. Do I list the collector or do I have to call and investigate who the original lender is?
Also, I saw the part about 6 months payment advices, what about bank statements? I have to give a tax return now or before the meeting with the trustee?

List the original creditor and the collection agency. List all the debts that the divorce decree says your ex is suppose to pay — even if he is paying ‘em. Might as well get your name free and clear of all the debts.

You should contact an attorney specializing in bankruptcy. This really isn’t a do it yourself project.
