bankruptcy and divorce questions
My wife has filed for divorce. What will happen with the joint loan. Bankrupt too?
I have received a letter instigating divorce proceedings she is after half of everything, when she left she left me in a right mess trying to pay everything off. So im now about a month away from bankruptcy.
My question is what will happen with the joint loan. If I go bankrupt, will she have to pay the whole lot or will they try and split it in the divorce after I have gone bankrupt?
Thanks
if its joint she will have to file bankruptcy with you or pay to entire debt. You will be protected by bankruptcy laws
