do i do anything different when filing taxes if my employer filed bankruptcy?
My employer filed bankruptcy and has not paid the federal taxes. He has taken taxes our of our individual checks, so I wanted to know how does that affect me the employee?
It will not affect you at all with the IRS. They just want you to pay your fair share of tax on your personal income. The only confusion comes if the employer did not forward your withholding to the IRS. Nothing you can do about that except to attach a note to your taxes explaining the bankruptcy of the business..
