bankruptcy bill 2005

Bankruptcy and medical bills?
I have been hospitalized 4 times in the 6 months and I have no insurance to pay for my bills let alone my 2 ambulance rides. I am currently unemployed seeking employment as a legal secretary but nothing as of yet. I was pondering whether I should claim bankruptcy because of my outstanding med bills and also, for the damage my ex has done to my credit in the past. I realize that since 2005, the bankruptcy rules have changed in favor of the creditors where it is harder to “wipe you slate totally clean” and instead have to repay in time, but I would rather wipe my slate clean and start over! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading my question!
