Can Guitar Center see that you hadn’t paid for an item that your going to trade in?

I want to trade in my Roland T-12 drum set, and my parents told me they think they will take the drum set because we claimed bankruptcy and put that on our list. They think they have a possibility of taking it in to trade it in for the new drum set I want they will look at the serial code and say that since it was still owed $2,000 they will take it.

Is this true at all?

GC is not going to check to see if you owe money on the Roland’s. If you guys recently filed and whoever financed the drums comes to your house to take them back, then you have a problem. But yes, GC will take them no questions asked but they only pay about 65% of street value so don’t expect to get much out of them. I’d try craigslist or something first. Not sure why the person above is talking about cars. It helps to actually read the question before answering.
