How much does it usually cost to file bankruptcy? From start to finish?
Typically the filing fees are approximately $750. Attorney costs can range from a little to a lot.
If you are unable to pay the costs, you could check with legal aide. They may be able to provide you with an attorney at little or no cost to you. It depends on your income. It is handled on a sliding scale (based on income) I think.
Filing bankruptcy is not like it used to be. Now it doesn’t mean that you can’t get credit again. You will pay higher interest rates, but you can get things on credit.
I would caution you to NOT go back into debt for things than you don’t HAVE to have. Pay cash & learn from a mistake.
