What is a Explanation of Bankruptcy Discharge?
My husband and I seperated a couple years ago. Several months ago he told me that he was filing for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Then after he filed for Bankruptcy he filed for divorce. Our divorce is not final yet, but almost. Today in the mail I got this letter from the United States Bankruptcy Court (?) And the letter is titled EXPLANATION OF BANKRUPTCY DISCHARGE IN CHAPTER 7 CASE. The letter is addressed to me and to my current address (not my previous address w/ husband) The letter says a lot about debts that are discharged and debts that aren’t. Can anyone tell me what this letter means to me? I called my (soon to be ex) husband to ask but he put me on hold and won’t return my calls. If anyone has any idea why I received this letter, or what, if anything I need to do about it…please give me any info you might know about this.
That letter should list the Bankruptcy court address, judge, and the name of the filing attorney. Contact them to get the rest of the info.
I would say that your husband has filed Chapter 7.
