bankruptcy fees 2009

Legal advice? I hired a lawyer back in mid 2009, He was supposed to filing my bankruptcy. We agreed…?
He would file as soon as I paid the filing fee to him. Rather then paying him in full I would be making payments until I received my tax return then I would be able to pay him off completly.Seeing as my funds were limited. I have sent several emails and left messages at his office with no return. Its been November when I left the first message at his office. What can I do?? Im now receiving offers on my debts too settle and at this point I could settle faster. Can I just stop paying him and settle my debts?
As long as he hasn’t filed your paperwork yet – keep paying your debts off. Most lawyers do NOT file until they have ALL of the money…..
If you pay your debts off … try to get your money back from the lawyer.
