bankruptcy government information
What happens if we don’t pay our debts in the U.S?

We own a house in the U.S. and owe 50K in credit cards. We moved to Dubai. We have residency status here. What happens if we do not pay our credit card bills? Can we file bankruptcy while out of the country? Will the government come after us legally? What if we continue to pay just the mortgage payments? We can’t afford to support two households and the debt in the U.S. Has anyone had a similar issue or know where I can look for information about this?

If your in Dubai the government cant “come” after you because Dubai does not have an extradite clause with the US. If you dont pay your debts after a couple of months your debitors will place leins against your property, a few months after that they will take you to court and of course you will loose and the credit card companies will sanction the city/state/government to liquidate your house and they will get first pickens at the money thats if the state doesn’t keep it all to them selves cause i am sure your not paying your taxes either.
