bankruptcy judges appointed

What are bankruptcy judges? How are they appointed?
In the UK, there are no specialist Bankruptcy Judges – they are normal magistrates that sit in County Court that also sit in bankruptcy hearings.
Magistrates are volunteers who apply for a position. They are screened by an Advisory Council which makes a recommendation to the Lord Chancellor. They are subsequently appointed by both the Secretary of State and Lord Chancellor on behalf of and in the name of the Queen.
