What should the new name be for things like NYT-WP-LAT-AP-ABC-CBS-NBC-CNN?
Definitely no long “mainstream”, not for years now. Viewers declining to afternoon soaper levels, people haven’t been buying newspapers for years now — bankruptcy and cash-flow issues stalk all these companies like Death on a Pale Horse.
So what should the new name be? I think “Legacy Media” is already not applicable — we are beyond that.
“Archaic Media”? “Old Fogey Media”? “Old Timey Backwoods Media”?
Any suggestions?
We don’t need one. Soon they will be non-existent.
