Don’t you hate when people say that Democrats don’t have ideas?
I am noticing that every time I see a Democrat on a talk show, they talk about specific things they will do if they win a house in Congress. For all their tough talk, what have Republicans accomplished since 2001? Don’t say they’ve tackled terrorism because the 9/11 commission would disagree. Even for hard line conservatives, the GOP can’t get some of their ideas to pass with 55 GOP senators; I talking about such issues as: keeping the budget under control, keeping the number of abortions and divorces down, saving corporations from bankruptcy, the 1994 commitment to reduce corruption, and crackdown on crime (the murder rate jumped way up in 2005). I think it’s idiotic for the GOP to claim that Dems don’t have ideas because everytime I watch C-Span, Dems are being told to shut up in some fashion. The Democrats would not be super-liberal if they took control, they would be center-left and probably even solve some of the problems that conservatives complain about.
Yes, it does bother me. It makes me think they don’t keep up with current events, just spew whatever talking point sounds best.
Just because republicans don’t agree with many of the ideas doesn’t mean they should accuse democrats of not having them. That’s just dishonest.
