This time…What Operating System?
I bought my Laptop with Vista Basic, Ofcourse I changed the OS to Windows XP Pro. All updates are installed and running smooth when managing files and other basic operations. i use it mainly for surfing and downloading files and don’t really notice how XP performs and how fast compare to Vista. Except that IE nowadays is behaving weird. i can use Firefox also. But I have been running XP in it for almost 2 yrs now, without even reformatting and the registry is already dirty..
I’m planning to do a clean install again..Should I reinstall XP?? Will Microsoft still release updates and fixes for XP? Or Windows Vista this time?
I don’t have a fast configuration but should run both OS:
Processor : 1.6 GHz
Ram : 2 GB
Video R : 256 mb
So, for basic computing..whats in this 2009?? XP? or the bankruptcy culprit Vista?
I would continue to use XP, as I do not care for Vista.
XP is a solid OS, wheras Vista is the Millenium Edition of current operating systems.
Reinstall XP and save your Vista key for the upgrade to Windows 7
