bankruptcy reaffirmation agreement form
If you sign a reaffirmation agreement, does the lender have to report it to your credit?
I signed a reaffirmation agreement on my car. My bankruptcy was just discharged. I checked all 3 credit reports to make sure everything was wiped out, it was and so was my car. The only reason I signed it was to keep my credit going and because I thought they would continue to report. I have had the car for 2 years, no late payments, the car is a 2007. Plus, I have good terms and it is really good payment. The value is where it should be and there is no negative equity, I put down a good down payment. These were the reason I kept the car. I gave back my second vehicle.
My lawyer didn’t really know if they were suppose to or not. The form I signed said they would.
Am I suppose to dispute the item on my credit?
Thanks
No they have not given us a new acct number. I am going to dispute the items on my credit to see if that fixes it. Thanks
Actually you did bkr against your car but reaffirmed it.
Dispute the entry on your file, also the next few times the bank reports on your car it may fix it.
Yes they should continue to report your history with them.
Did the bank assign a new acct # to you car or send a new payment book?
