Are there any downsides to getting unemployment pay?
My husband is currently in between jobs and we were thinking of applying for unemployment pay to supplement our income while he is looking for his next job. Are there any reasons not to do this? Does it make a negative mark on a kind of permanent record like bankruptcy does? He works in the financial market and we want to make sure that this wont affect the types of jobs available to him or our credit.
We would be applying for unemployment pay in the state of Ohio if that makes a difference to any answers or experiences you have to share.
Has absolutely no affect on your credit report none. He will not be eligible for it though if he quit, or was fired for undesirable reasons. Again does not affect your credit report whatsoever
