Will having a bankruptcy on my record keep me from getting a position as an insurance agent in Texas?
Can I still be appointed with an insurance company to seel insurance if I file for bankruptcy?
I don’t know of any companies that will appoint someone with a bankruptcy. It will come out, during the credit check.
Larger agencies also check credit, when they hire in producers.
You’re only hope, IMO, is to get hired on as a straight commission producer at a smaller agency. Once you have a decent size, established book and 5 years under your belt with no payment problems, then you can take that track record to a carrier and beg for an appointment.
Appointments are tough to get.
