can u get a small business loan if you claimed bankruptcy before?
i want to try to get a small business loan soon but i have declared bankruptcy (chapter 13) a couple of weeks ago. i make a monthly payment, pay on time, and now i need a business loan to start a new business. would i get rejection because of the bankruptcy?
if so, where could i go to get financial assistance to start a small business?
You can get a loan after bankrupcy, but it’s very difficult. you’ve already shown you were irresponcible and left your creditors hanging.
On the other hand you’ve just cleared up all your debt and have a fresh start. I really doubt you’ll get a bank loan at this time.
You may be able to get a credit card, but with a very high interest rate. You can also try www.prosper.com a peer to peer lending site.
