bankruptcy wages priority

I freelanced for a client that filed for bankruptcy. Is my money owed considered ‘wages and salaries’?

I was a contractor/freelancer for an LLC that recently filed for bankruptcy. The company owes me more than $3,500 for services rendered prior to its bankruptcy filing. Since I was a freelancer, is my claim considered “wages or salaries” – and therefore Entitled to Priority in the bankruptcy court? Or do “wages and salaries” apply only to employees of the company (not contractors)? Thanks.

Wages and salaries relate to employees not contractors.
