What is needed for bankruptcy?
I have almost $50K in medical bills. My insurance didn’t cover the bills because they said it was pre-existing. However, I didn’t find this out until after I received the treatment. I’m at a loss here. Our health care system is a scam. My wife is in the Middle East working for the US Military as a linguist. Her salary is $130K. I am unemployed. We own a house in Illinois. Is there an attorney out there familiar with the Illinois Bankruptcy laws, or anyone in this same situation with medical bills? Please let me know if I’m able to file for bankruptcy without affecting my wife’s credit or possibly losing my home. Thank you.
