california bankruptcy

Bankruptcy and working for the State of California?
Please answer if you know the actual answer to this question, or can direct me to the correct answer.
I have heard that The State of California won’t hire a person if they have declared bankruptcy (is this true?), but if you already work for the state, can they fire a you?
No state or federal agency or private employer can fire you or refuse to hire you because you file or have filed bankruptcy. My mom filed in 2003 and had the same concerns that you have. Look up U.S. Bankruptcy Code section 525. It also says you can’t be denied a student loan or grant because of bankruptcy.
