bankruptcy need alot of info thanks?
ok so i talked to my lawyer today and he asked if we have any fire arms i said yes we have 3 each are worth 50 dollars max that would be if we sold it at a pawn shop and that is how he told me to evaluate them. my question is we are filing chapter 7 in bankrupcy we are keeping our house and car the main reason why we are filing is because we have accumlated 25,000 dollars in medical bills so i am wondering do you think if we list them at 50 dollars a peice 150 all together that they will come and take them away or is it not worth it i need honest answers please also do they come and do a walk in aprasial for everyhting just asking god bless you guys who have been down this road its not fun and i dont plan on doing it again i live in colorado if that means anything and the lawyer did say they can take them away but i didnt tell him how much they cost thanks
Most likely not . . . oddly enough Sears credit corp. will take anything . . . I worked for a bankruptcy attorney in Florida and they would always show up and take something of equal value . . . truly ridiculous stuff . . . However, it’s important that you do not lie . . . if you FAIL to list something, even unintentionally, your creditors can move to dismiss your filing on charges of fraud . . . so even though it’s tempting to not list some things . . . do it anyway.
