Do foreigners still want to marry Americans even during the current economic crisis?
People all over the world and from all walks of life are feeling the heat of the current economic crisis. The current economic crisis has caused a dent in many a pocket and has resulted in numerous lay offs in organizations across the world. As a result of this current economic crisis, many foreigners out there might be wondering whether marrying an American is the right choice for them. Known as the land of opportunities, America has been facing a dearth of job opportunities in few sectors due to the current economic crisis. But that doesn’t mean America doesn’t have any job opportunities to offer to the immigrants, who are looking forward to marry American citizens and apply for marriage visas. As a matter of fact, considerable amount of job opportunities are still available for immigrants who enter the country by marrying a US citizen. Foreign nationals who marry American citizens and apply for marriage visas can make the most out of job opportunities available in sectors like business, finance and accounting, information technology (IT), health and medical sector, engineering, green industries, sales & marketing, renewable energy, security, service industries, teaching, and more.
Apart from the job opportunities, another important reason why foreigners want to marry Americans is the benefits they would receive as an American citizen. Marriage visas are the first step towards obtaining an American citizenship. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) department offers U.S.A marriage visas to immigrants, under categories like Nonimmigrant Visa for a Fiancé(e) (K-1), Immigrant Visa for a Spouse (IR1 or CR1), and Nonimmigrant Visa for a Spouse (K-3). In the above list, K-1 Visa is for foreign nationals who are engaged and about to marry an American, and the last two U.S.A marriage visas are for those foreigners who are already married to American citizens.

The simplest answer is that the Federal government accepted financial industry bribes (also called campaign contributions) and agreed not to regulate “financial derivatives”.
Because of the lack of regulation, the financial industry was able to make all sorts of risky but profitable-looking trades and transactions. Eventually, reality caught up, the risk of defaults became the reality of defaults, and the house of cards came tumbling down.
Now the banks are too scared to lend so even businesses who are solid are finding it hard to borrow. Our economy is built on credit – companies borrow money to buy the raw materials and pay the workers; then they pay back the loans when they sell the goods.
No loans means no money to buy what it takes to make the goods, which means no work for the people making the goods, which means unemployment. Unemployment means people have less money, so they tend to buy less of the goods that are available, so again less work for the workers, etc.
A vicious cycle.
(BTW, “goods” doesn’t just mean manufactured products, it also includes services such as construction, restaurants, travel, education, etc.)
