Should we report bankruptcy on application if filed over ten years ago?
My boyfriend was involved with a pedestrian in a bicycling accident and filed due to inability to pay settlement and hospital fees for being in a coma for two weeks. The file was made over ten years ago.
We’re applying for a new flat together after me being the principle on the lease for the last few years. Should we report the bankruptcy on the application and explain it being dismissed over ten years?
You do not have to report it. You do not have to explain it. It has been over ten years, so all records of the bankruptcy have been deleted from the Big 3 credit reporting agencies. No one cares anymore anyway. It’s been ten years. Usually bankruptcy impacts your credit for seven years.
