filing bankruptcy louisiana
In Louisiana, should I file bankruptcy if my home is being repossessed & can my wages be garnished if I dont?

The house has a loan on it I assume and its the lender who’s “repossessing” it? Not much you can do, a bankruptcy probably won’t stop the lender from “foreclosing” on the loan, unless Louisiana for some reason allows you to exempt the home from creditor’s claim in bankruptcy and I doubt that if the house is the collateral for the lender. Sounds like you will lose the house.

Now if the house is not of sufficient value to satisfy the loan or you owe other people, if Louisiana allows wage garnishments for debts, the answer is yes they can garnish your wages. Filing a bankruptcy would prevent a garnishment action.
