filing bankruptcy overseas
bankruptcy…please help!!!!!!!!!!!?
Just wondering people’s experience with filing for bankruptcy and how you feel now??
Is it embarrasing with family and friends knowing or don’t they know?
Have you struggled getting jobs?
also…how hard is it to go overseas on a working visa in the first three years??
and when overseas, be it within the first three years or after this three year period, will potential employers be able to check credit historys??
I declared bankruptcy about 15 years ago, when it turned out that my cheating ex wife hadn’t been paying the mortgage, and took off leaving me to clear up the mess. It was a terrible decision to make, and one that I struggled with for many months before I did it. I haven’t told family or friends about it, except a couple of my mates figured it out. And I think most of the others have guessed, but they’ve never said anything. I don’t know about going overseas, I couldn’t afford to go anyway. And I don’t think employers would be bothered about checking your credit history, but these matters are on the public record, so anyone can check up on you. (I don’t know what a bank or security firm would do if you were applying for a job there – maybe they’d investigate your records, but most other jobs wouldn’t, I’d imagine). It’s a tough decision to make, but it gives you the opportunity to start afresh. Nonetheless, I don’t envy you. Good luck!
