Can I rent if I filed bankruptcy?
I am on disability and collect Social Security, recently my husband and I filed bankruptcy, we are separated and will divorce next year. I want to move to Oregon and am eligible for Housing Assistance, am I still eligible for it if I filed bankruptcy? Thank you for your help. I am not on housing assistance now, but have been in the past.
You can. But you can’t apply in OR until you have established residency. After you obtain a voucher you may have a hard time finding a landlord willing to accept it from you with your bad credit.
