Bankruptcy questions?
My brother is in trouble financially..BIG trouble. He has had a lot of outstanding medical, credit cards, standard bank loans that re all do and over bearing for him. Plus he is laid off at the moment. He recently had a bad car accident and is awaiting huge debt from that. he has no medical insurnce. This is the state of Iowa. He wants to file for bankruptcy to clean all this up. He wants to have a fresh start. What are the requirements and steps for him to take. What can be and cannot be concidered assetts? Any help please.
Man..I’m sorry you got such answers that didn’t even give you anything to go on. Have your brother contact a local bankruptcy attorney, most will see him free the first time. They will need to look at his income for the last 6 months, assets, list of his debts, last 3 or 4 years of taxes, and then be able to tell him what he qualifies for. You both can gain more information on the bk proceedings and chapters to file individual bankruptcy at www.usbankruptcy.gov Good Luck!!
