marketing bankruptcy

Hockey: What do you think is the ballpark figure of the relocation fee in the Coyotes bankruptcy case?
The judge in the case said the NHL is entitled to a relocation fee if the Coyotes move.
The Judge is using the formula the case involving the Oakland Raiders moving to LA.
Value of new market(Hamilton ) – value of the franchise where it is now = Relocation fee
Doesn’t include territory rights fees to Toronto and Buffalo.
The value of the franchise will go down as a result of the bankruptcy filing.
Back when this whole thing started, I said the league should go to Balsillie and say “$500mm and it’s yours, lock, stock, and barrel.”
That’s $212.5mm for the franchise, and $287.5mm for relocation and territorial fees. Personally I think Buffalo should get a bigger chunk of the territorial fees than Toronto.
I think Bettman could sell that to the BOG.
