Problems with a creditor’s lawyer?
My partner had a credit card he couldn’t pay. Finally he became employed again and by that time Cap 1 put their lawyers on him. They told him that the only way to avoid court was to pay them (the lawyers) $3000 at $500 a month. Well he has done that and with the interest and penalties he still hasn’t touched the principal. $500 a month is killing him.
How much could they take if they attached his wages (we are in maryland)? Is there anything else he can do? Forget bankruptcy.

In all states wages can be garnished as much as 25%.
When they request your precessence at court – show up.
Ask for that to be reduced to only 10% garnishment due to financial hardships.
