obama afghanistan policy 2009
14 dead Americans in Afghanistan yesterday, 7 more today. Why is Obama losing control of the situation?

It looks like October 2009 will be the deadliest month IN THE ENTIRE AFHGANISTAN WAR (which began all the way back in October 2001 – eight YEARS ago) for US soldiers.

Notice how fatalities have been spiking ever since Obama took office?

Not to mention that huge attack in Baghdad a couple days ago that killed 160 Iraqis…

Try to be honest and nonpartisan here – would you say that Obama’s war policy is quickly spiraling out of control?

Why is this happening?

Yes we all know that President Obama is responsible for crashing those two helicopters and he should have never sent those extra troops knowing that they will be going into unsecured territory. It is all his fault.

NOW FOR THE FACTS!!
President Barack Obama on Feb. 17 signed off on sending 17,700 additional forces to Afghanistan. At the time, 38,089 Americans were in the country. Another 6,059 service members – approved by President George W. Bush – also were flowing into Afghanistan. On March 27, Obama increased the number of forces bringing the number of troops he had approved to 21,000.

About 66,000 American service members are now in Afghanistan, and the number will reach 68,000 at the end of the year.

In December 2008 General McKiernan requested more than 20,000 soldiers, Marines and airmen Gen. David McKiernan stated that increasing U.S. troop levels from about 32,000 to 55,000 or 60,000 is “needed until we get to this tipping point where the Afghan army and the Afghan police have both the capacity and capability to provide security for their people. That is at least three or four more years away.” George Bush approved a little over 6000 a year later and they were not sent until President Obama was in office.
