When do we as a people say enough is enough?
I have read the constitution and the Bill of Rights many time over and it is the most valued document we have. Some people have challenged our right to practice our religion freely and openly by prohibiting the display of icons or words that may not agree with their point of view. That does NOT give them the tight to prohibit us from showing our beliefs by displaying christmas trees or signs or words they do not like. Who do they think they are to tell the rest of the world to hide behind walls and not be visible to their senseabilities. This country was founded by Christians from its beginnings.
People came here to escape religious persecution and intolerance abroad. Others came to be free to not practice any religion. Everyone can worship or not as they please. But do not tell us to stop because you do not want to see it anywhere. It is the height of arrogance to tell other to conform to your ideas because it is you saying so. If you do not like our system of governing then you are free to go anywhere you wish. No one is trying to persuade you to follow any religeon.
This government was formed and started by a group of leaders at its head where religeon played a big part in their lives. They asked the greatest minds available at the time to help form a document that would give the greatest amount of freedom to its citizens as a whole with rights for all. They lived under an opressive regime in Englnd that gave very little in the way of individual freedom. The great majority of them read the bible daily. They were from protestant, catholic, prysbeterian, Quaker. and other backgrounds but they were religious men that believed in GOD.
They wanted to give the maximum freedom to all people but they knew that goverment was a necessary evil to protect the country from other governments around the world. A strong national defence was needed but not one that could oppress its people. Limited government was the aim of all the signers. The government must run with freedom of speech as its first and foremost freedom. Without that their can be no freedom. Any country wishing control of its people has to diminish free speech or control it.
President Obama is trying just that by the way the democrats have been threatening the critics who oppose his policies. He has already declared war on Fox news channel and has declared them personna non grata at the White House. He tried to block them from a news event. Even the liberal news organizations would not stand for that and they all walked out. He relented and allowed them in but that is the kind of President we have now.
He came from Chicago and the politics the Daley camp runs there. He cannot do that where he is now and it seems to frustrate him. It seems as if he is an all out war guy that does not take kindly to criticism from ny source. But I digress from religion. I cannot see how the supreme court can deny religious freedom from the vast majority of its people for the few vocal people who hate it.
I cannot understand the reasoning behind prohibiting the name of GOD from being inscribed on buildings and money to satisfy a very few vocal GOD haters. After all we are not forcing anyone to subscribe to any religion. The last time anyone took a poll it was determined that 89% or more of the people in this country believe in GOD. About 8% were not sure and the rest do not believe in any supreme being.
Are we as a people supposed to remove any vestige of religion from any place it can be viewed by those that do not believe. Why are they so vehement and spend so much money dragging these lawsuits thru the courts.? I have asked this question over and over but still no answer. Their are a lot of people out there who desire the overthrow of our government and our way of life. We have to be on guard always.
Now they are after our children in school and want to rewrite history and remove religion from all school books and history books. They also want to change history to fit their concept of it. Communists and marxists also want no part of GOD anywhere. They call it the ;” Opium of the Masses “. They come in to fill the vacume when GOD is kept out. If we do not stand up for our rights and demand our ability to worship then it will be eaten away slowly, bit by bit.
If you value your rights you have to be able to spend one or two hours a week investigating on the web. I know everyone is very busy with their lives and families and making a decent living but if you do not, you may lose it all very soon. Any question you have can be answered on the web. Once you become familiar with the search process it becomes easy to pose direct questions and to find all the answers.
That is one reason the Obama camp has tried controlling it by formulating things like the so called ” Fairness Doctrine” that would stifle dissent under the name of Fairness. They want to control every aspect of our lives. What is that called again? Religion has been attacked by a very small minority but it has the backing of big money sources. It all points to a group of people who want to control us by any means possible.
Remember: first goes free speech and then the rest piece by piece and step by step.
