Obama to sign order shutting Gitmo in a year?
The official said the president would sign the order Thursday, fulfilling his campaign promise to shut down a facility that critics around the world say violates domestic and international detainee rights.

Why not just shut it down right away?
they need a minute to figure out what to do with the people being held there, the people who work there, and the facility itself. i mean, you can’t just release 300 prisoners and a bunch of people from their jobs one day without warning. i heard that he’s suspending action there for 120 days, and then he will shut it down. it’s about time.
