Economic War Message

Obama didn’t beat Hillary Clinton in the presidential primary because he didn’t know how to run a political war machine. While he got a smashing victory on the stimulus plan in the first month, the budget is not going to be that easy of a campaign- and Obama knows it. So, he’s set up his war machine to take the message to the people. But, the Republicans might just be joined by a few Democrats to rein in the proposed budget.

The White House on Sunday began harnessing every part of the Democratic Party’s machinery to defend President Obama’s budget and portray Republicans as reflexively political, according to party strategists. At a time when Capitol Hill has begun to resist the sweep and cost of his agenda, Obama’s aides used the Sunday interview programs to launch an aggressive case that his bold budget for health care and other issues will help fuel an economic recovery.

The war is on!

On ABC’s “This Week,” White House economic adviser Larry Summers said the president had proposed a “strategic budget” that “will let us have a sound economic expansion” through a combination of “substantial cuts” and new spending on education, health, energy and environment. The president himself plans to carry that message in the coming week, “engaging directly with Congress more, and speaking more forcefully on behalf of his budget,” a top adviser said.

Officials throughout the party plan to hammer the idea that Republicans are just saying “no” to the president’s budget plans without offering their own alternative.

Vice President Cheney, speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union” articulated the harshest conservative case against the president’s plans, accused the Obama administration of “using the current set of economic difficulties to try to justify a massive expansion in the government, and much more authority for the government over the private sector.”

Personally I am not against Barack… I think its great to have a culturally diverse man as the president. I am only worried about his over the roof economic plan…. If it succeeds great… but if it fails i dont think there is any way out …… lets just hope he succeeds…. afterall thats what he himself will be hoping for…
