No, I’m not surprised, and yes, I do think there is a correlation between racism and lack of education.
I think that fear of the other might be part of an innate defense mechanism left over from evolution…a clannish mentality of defending one tribes resources and fearing the other. Just like all irrational fears, education can teach us to grow past them and to realize that we have more in common than what divides us.
