I am glad people are happy – I am too! Not sure the republicans would feel the same!
People from America may not realize this, but he has been more driven towards peace. I admit, this award seems a bit too premature. A lot of people have a strong vision but over a period of time realize that those visions are impractical. I hope Obama’s visions don’t turn out impractical. Else the award may just lose its sheen. I am from India, and thinking objectively, I have to admit that, even though this award was too soon for him, he did try to correct a lot of mistakes of his predecessors. Image of America has certainly improved. He has also tried to be fair in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
And before you guys judge me, I am NOT a muslim. And Obama has caused worries for India, if anything. Bush’s steps were pro-India. Obama’s steps, as expected, aren’t. But fair is fair. He has tried to cut down upon the H1B1 Visas to the people from my country, which is the right step for the Americans in this crisis. People from other countries shouldn’t be getting jobs when American people are getting laid-off in this economic crisis. Also, there should be less outsourcing at this stage. It does impact my country negatively. But, it is the right thing to do. After all, if not for the Americans, then for whom is he building/managing this country?
So maybe the decision to award him this prize was a bit premature and half-cooked, he is doing the right thing. He is trying to paint America’s image as that of a country whose ultimate goal is peace, not dictatorship. Of course, you guys don’t know this yet because you are in America. Sadly, the world links the government to its people. I see unnecessary dislike/hatred, apart from jealously, towards American people for things they NEVER did/supported – the Iraq war, etc. I think you deserve a much better image than what you have at this moment, and your president is trying to do something right at this stage. The only thing is – he is an excited kid who wants to fix everything. He probably should take only a few steps at a time and finish off the work he has started to do. Else, his visions will never materialize.
