Where online can I find Bankruptcy Ch. 7 forms for in Oregon? Ofcourse, I have no money to get an attorney.?
Please don’t say get an attorney. I need the forms, ASAP. My creditors are hounding me and I have a house to protect (no, it has no equity).
Bankruptcy is a Federal Process but each state does have it’s exceptions as to what and what is not protected. Below is a link to some information for Oregon. At the bottom of the page are links to the Federal Courts that handle BK as well as the forms.
Creditors will “hound” you but they can not take anything from you until they go through the legal process of filing suit against you. After they file they then have to get a judgment against you. You have the legal right to tell 3rd party collection agencies to stop calling you. You should also look up information on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act(FDCPA).
I would suggest that you talk to a legitimate credit counselor first. You can find one by going to the National Foundation of Credit Counselors(http://www.nfcc.org). You may be surprised in finding out that Bankruptcy may not be the only way out.
But if you do decide to file be very careful about doing this. BK is a complicated process that has A LOT of paperwork and calculations that must be done correctly. If you do even one thing incorrectly you could have your entire Bankruptcy dismissed.
