protect assets bankruptcy
I have no insurance, and had an emegency. I was in intensive care for days. All I have is a house and little?
rental, and a few thousand for retirement. I think the bill will be like 50k…Any suggestions???…Would bankruptcy work to protect my few assets. I am willing to pay till the day I die, but this bill will not be covered.

You may be eligible for medicaid. Work with the hospital billing department as they have access the filling out the necessary paperwork with the government. Otherwise, if you are denied, set up a payment plan, so long as it is reasonable for your level of income and make monthly payments.
It is hearing about situations like yours that makes me wonder why the government has yet to institute a national health plan. Makes me want to denounce my citizenship to the U.S. and sneak through the borders because illegal immigrants are covered as well as immigrants who claim they can’t afford to make health care payments.
