question about bankruptcy fraud ..?
My ex-husband filed for bankruptcy and hasn’t worked in years. He has bought things on credit card and probably told the companies that he makes more money than he does, which is nothing. Is there a way that I can get him in trouble, or is it not worth pursuing? Will anything happen to him if i report him, or is he doing nothing wrong? He is at least 30,000 grand in debt I think…

For it to be fraud he would have had to have run up the debt with no intention of repaying it. This is very hard to prove. Without solid proof it is probably not worth pursuing.
When he filed the trustee will look at his debts and if it appears that he is doing something “fishy” they will know. The trustee deals with hundreds(if not thousands) of Bankruptcies a year and knows what is normal and what is out of the ordinary.
If there is possible fraud and he is prosecuted. The very least he would have his bankruptcy dismissed, at most he could end up in federal prision.
