simple bankruptcy
bankruptcy preparer made some minor mistakes.?
I got my bankruptcy petition in the mail from a bankruptcy preparer company called signhere, they made some minor mistakes on my petition, they got some of the names of the creditors wrong, and got the city and state of the creditor wrong. I reviewed the form that provided him with all my information and I have everything correct. Are minor mistakes ok? can I just mention this when I go to court or will simple mistakes screw me over? I would tell the company but their service really sucks, they are very hard to contact.
There are no minor mistakes in bankruptcy court. Even a city and State error can be major – ABC Credit of Concord, CA and ABC Credit of Concord, NH may both be valid companies!
Have the petition reviewed by a bankruptcy lawyer. If there are errors in it, it may be rejected, and that could result in you being unable to refile for several years.
